I was hoping to get people to start their monthly contribution, but it seems people are more inclined to make one time contribution. So I have added this to the start of the thread.

hi i have come to the u.s. on a f2 visa and currently my spouse is doing her OPT.i applied for a driving licence in georgia and i was issued a learners permit based on my I94,visa and letter from social security office denying me a ssn.
i went to the same centre(decatur) for a road test and now they say that we cannot give you a licence because your visa says dependent for a student of wisconsin university,so you should go to wisconsin and get your licence.i went to another dmv centre and after verifying my docs. they let me take the road test and i cleared the test and they asked me to go to the counter to pay money , at that time the person in the counter again asked me for passpoert and i94 and he saw that university of wisconsin stuff on my visa and he said he will not issue a licence and i spoke to the supervisor and he says get a letter from INS ,i showed him my spouse opt card and showed him the words in the card which reads"eligible to work in u.s. upto ----").now he says that is your spouse opt card ,what autorisation do you have to stay in GA ?
has any one come across such a problem?is so kindly advice

The date of the I-140 approval matters just in case the visa dates are retrogressed again before your case is adjudicated, in which case it will be better the longer the delay on your 140 approval. See examlpe 5 in raju123's posting above.

So if we apply concurrently when is his green card application deemed to have been applied for? When we file concurrently or only when and if the 140is approved.

Since it is absolutely impossible with EB3 Sep 2006 PD I thought he might have applied in a different category..Do not know the specifics of EB5...Incase what you said is true whatever that guy said is just a JOKE!

IV can you please shed the light on this. EAD is a step closer Greencard. One will eventually get one. Even when some one is waiting on EAD he/she almost have all the benefits of GC except to renew each time

There is no way to know count of "active members". Many IV members have got GC in last 2 years and they have "quitely" left IV and forgotten the struggle by EB based immigrants. How many members stay at IV after getting GC?

That is why illegal-immigrants have a voice - they have money and they have got mass participation from their community - even people who are citizens here or got GC .
As for our EB community - try going to a person who got citizenship or a GC and then hear what you will get. They will either politely decline or start talking about the abuse of the H1 program and things like that. They won't lift a finger to help us.
Well what can we expect from our fellow EB naturalized citizens and GC holders when even we on H1 or in 485 queue won't help ourselves.
Someone mentioned above that IV has 450K in assets and hence no funding issue. I personally don't think that is enough for bring a change like getting visa recapture or other legislation.

They must have interpreted lot of phone calls and inquiries as "people might not have understood the revision" as they are not from "English Speaking" countries so change it and put "Flip" and "Flop" together as somebody mentioned ahead. But if people might not have understood "Flip" and "Flop" then how can they understand "Flip-Flop"?:)

Not sure about which bank would be good but whichever bank you choose make sure that they give you a statement of how much interest you paid over the year. Most people don't realize that you can deduct interest paid for a home loan in India is tax deductible in the US. Just FYI.

This would technically mean that anyone anywhere in the world now, who has ever been to the US on a H visa, can apply for a GC based on the first touchdown date.

I noticed soft LUD on 485s last week for me and my wife...not sure what that means..
A soft LUD today 03/04 on my/wife's I-485 application.
I see lot of cases of EB2-I with PDs of 2005/06 and EB3- I with PDs 2003/04 have recentely received LUDs/RFEs.
Let's wait what next visa bulletin says !

Instead of doing all of this, First, if we able to make every one just take one day off from work on the same day through out the USA and let our employers and the press knows that we are doing this to show about our issues. We do not need to go on rally. At least if we take off on the same day through out USA to make sure people understand about our issues and our sufferings. I am not sure how it will help. At least if we make it to be notified by the government, .press, our employers. and the public about our issues.

The calculations below is not to scare anyone but it may very well a reality. Based on the assumptions below, some people may have to wait up to 20 months to get a EAD card: Ouch!

A kind request - can someone remove this kinda thread with heavy calculation from our senior member - Sorry to say but this is definitely not a good time to start this kinda discussion especially that we are filling our docs and where so many of us are stuck in our employers dealing with us who has not filled our EAD/AP.

The online status for my wife's AP shows "document mailed" but mine still says case received and pending. I'm the primary applicant and we mailed our applications same day. Below is my filing information.
Anybody notice same kind of behaviour where spouse's AP application is approved and primary is still waiting????
