I have EAD, AP and H-1B. I don't have H-1b stamped on my passport. I would like to travel on AP.
According to my lawyer;
"For every paper (AP) you have, you can make one trip with it. So if you have 3 original papers, you make 3 trips in and out of the country."
Is this true? My friends who traveled outside the country were told at the port of entry that AP can be used for multiple entry and the above does not hold true.
Any insight would be appreciated.
thanks in advance

The NY Times' Nina Bernstein recently reported on the case of Qing Hong Wu, who immigrated to the US as a child and who was facing deportation as a result of with the law as a teenager. The case has garnered attention because Mr. Wu has gone on to turn his life around and rise to the ranks of head of Internet technology for a national company. Wu's family is here and he's been in the US for almost his entire 29 years. While ICE has the authority to exercise discretion and not pursue the deportation of individuals where the...

I am currently waiting on my 485 (EB2). My priority date is Sept 16 2005, and 485 date is Aug 27 2007. I have traveled out of the country and back on advance parole and am still on H1 as I am still with the same company. My current advance parole ends in Jan 31 2010. I have to travel again in the first week of Feb 2010. I applied for another advance parole at the TSC on Aug 31 2009 for both my Wife and I. My Wife got her parole in a week, but I am yet to receive it.
I checked the USCIS site for the time frame and it says 3 months for TSC. I am thinking I might not have received it yet as I have a parole which is active. But I want to make the travel reservations now and I wanted a confirmed parole. USCIS said that they could put in an expedited request for the parole if it is an emergency. My lawyer says not to worry as I had applied in August, I had plenty of time to receive it.
Please advice. What should I do.

I had a 221g in 2000 and submitted all the docs. I got response in 2002 (After 2 years :eek:) . I had just 10 months left on my H1 that time. So we will never know. But situation in 2000 was different. I am not discouraging you but telling how hard these 221gs will be. I hope its not that bad these days and you may get response soon.
Anyway, Good Luck.

I got green card through marriage. My wife is a US citizen and I came here legally and was in legal status(F-1) before getting married. We got married in August 2005. I applied for green card following year and finally got my card approved March 2008. I got a conditional residence which expires March 2010. I did all paperwork myself. My wife recomend me for an attorney for removal of condition. Attorney tells me that USCIS screwed up and sent me a conditonal residence card as under,"Immigration Marriage Fraud Amendments Act of 1986 (IMFA) on November 6, 1986. INA 216, 8 USC 1186a","Under IMFA, an alien spouse who obtained the status of an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence by virtue of a marriage contracted less than 24 months before the date of admission is considered to have obtained such status on a conditional basis."
Now he wants me to send the green card back to USCIS as at the time of approval of my petition my marriage had passed more than two years!
I am confused. I need a second opinion.
Please help
Thanks for your precious time. I really appreciate it
